Are you afraid of failure?

Are you afraid of failure?

To be honest, sometimes I have been. But, I've discovered how to ignore those dark, nagging voices that say I'm wasting my time and efforts.

You have to do that also—ignore the voices that doubt your efforts and doubt your talents.

I've learned to push past the negative and move forward. When I feel the clouds of doubt coming near, I stop and pray for courage. Sometimes (oftentimes) my feelings still drag, but I act as if I'm brave and continue in my efforts.

I've learned that your efforts can overcome your feelings. The more you try, the more you persist, the better off you are. Grit your teeth and keep moving.

Yes, it is easier to give up. It's easier to make all sorts of excuses why this goal (this dream!) deserves to be abandoned. But don't do it!

Decades ago, a pastor gave a sermon and said it's better to try and fail, than to never try and always wonder. That's stuck with me since the 1990s.

Here is a thought I want to leave you with:

God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. 2 Timothy 1:7

So, let's be brave together. Let's ignore the voice of doubt. Let's be fearless of failure. Let's get cracking and keep working toward our goals.
