Do you desire a more joyful and stress-free life? Seek wisdom.

I've always been one to save wise words to live by. This is part 4 of a series. You can start reading the posts here.

According to the Bible, wisdom is a God-given ability to apply knowledge and understanding to real-life situations, leading to a practical and God-centered discernment.

  • Take care in sharing personal information. Some people truly care, but others are just curious. Sometimes it's hard to discern who is which type of person, so keep your info to yourself.

  • For your health, shop the perimeter of the grocery store. Buy and eat fresh, not processed, foods. A few months ago, a friend turned me on to the Yuka app. It rates food and cosmetics. (The icon looks like a carrot.)

  • Remember the 1st rule of etiquette: Never make someone else feel uncomfortable! This kindness saves heartache and embarrassment for others and makes you more classy.

  • If you say you’re going to do something, do it. Finish a job you’ve started. People respect people who follow through.

  • Do the right thing. Even if no one is looking. Virtue is its own reward.

  • Don’t hold on to your regrets. Move forward with lessons learned. Regret is a useless emotion; it will get you nowhere.

  • It’s okay to put space between you and someone who tears you down. You don’t owe allegiance to anyone who doesn’t have your best interest at heart.

  • Use things, not people, and love people, not things. If you realize you have a friend who uses people and loves things, beware. Guard your heart.

  • There is room for both holistic and traditional medicine in your life. Be wise with your health.

  • Do unto others as you would have them do to you. Be kind, be patient, be forgiving.

  • Speak the truth in love. There are people who need someone to speak the truth to them. Just do it kindly

  • Don’t worry and fret about growing older. It’s better than the alternative, and each decade has its own appeal. It is true that with age comes wisdom.

  • If you make a mistake, fix it. You'll be admired for owning up and fixing a mistake.

I hope you bookmark my wisdom lists. There are times when words of wisdom help you through tough times and soothe your heart.
