Simple Guidelines for a Peaceful Life

I saw this list and thought it would be great to expand on these six essential keys to live a peaceful, happy life:

  1. When you are alone, mind your thoughts. What you think about yourself creates your reality. Be kind. Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life. Proverbs 4:23 (ERV)

  2. When you are with friends, mind your tongue. Don't gossip. Don't judge. Be kind and encouraging. The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain. Proverbs 10:11

  3. When you are angry, mind your temper. Words cannot be taken back, and folks remember your actions. Better to be patient than powerful;  better to have self-control than to conquer a city. Proverbs 16:32

  4. When you are with a group, mind your behavior. Don't make yourself the center of attention and consider being the "includer," and make someone else welcome. Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. 1 Thessalonians 4:11

  5. When you are in trouble, mind your emotions. Your feelings are not always an accurate indication of what's really going on. Cool your emotions, take a breath, and act logically. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

  6. When God blesses you, mind your ego. Remember Who the source of your talents are. Remember Who gives favor to the godly. But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Matthew 23:12

Have a blessed week, friends!
