Lifehack: Enjoy today!

Somebody needs to hear this: stop fretting about the future.

It's all too easy to give in to worry. Our lives are so busy and if we don't plan, chaos can sneak in. But, there's a difference between planning and worrying.

Have faith in what you know, not in what you feel. If you search the Bible you'll find that not even once does it say worry about tomorrow or stress over tomorrow. But it repeatedly says to trust God.

We all have our battles, but here's the thing: The battle is not yours, it's God's. Sure, put on your armor (Ephesians 6:10-18), pick up your sword, and stand firm in your faith/convictions. Focus on God. Focus on what you believe His plans for your life are. Do the next thing. Take care of your needs. Get enough sleep. Eat well. Then get up again and continue what you started the day before. Then do the next thing. While you're doing all that, look around and appreciate the people in your life.

We all have goals, but here's the thing—those goals and dreams can't be accomplished overnight. Our responsibility is to learn what needs to be done to accomplish those goals. And while we're busy doing that, we need to enjoy the now.

Don't become so focused on the end result that you miss what's happening around you. Go out for coffee with a friend. Connect with your spouse, encourage your children/grandkids. Read a good book. Take a walk. Delight yourself in the world surrounding you.

I've been giving plenty of advice in this post, and the best piece is to focus on God more than your problems, and enjoy the day He gives you.

Stop worrying, friends. Trust God!
